Laser Friend 'Printer Service/Repair' procedure is available in two different schemes "Ad Hoc" and "RPMS". Both schemes are available either Onsite or at our Workshop and are charged at a FIXED RATE no matter how long it takes giving you piece of mind knowing right from the start how much a response will be costing you. We do not charge an hourly rate as many other maintenance companies do.
All work carried out is thoroughly documented in an engineer report and a copy of the report is left with the printer/client so as to build up a printer service history.

Urgent Same Day Onsite 'Ad Hoc' Inspection from £79.00 mono and £99.00 colour.
Scheme 1 'Ad Hoc' is a general response to a printer which has developed a problem. An 'Ad Hoc' response is normally booked for next day, however, depending on the time of the enquiry and the printer location a response may be possible on the same day.
Although you will have reported any problems you are experiencing with your printer, the engineer will still carry out an extensive inspection of all the internal components including paper path parts and assemblies, looking for deterioration and general wear and tear. Any concerns identified at this point, which can be rectified within the inspection, will be at no additional cost. The engineer will determine in his opinion whether the printer components will endure a further 12 months. Ideally for both parties we do not want to be called out to the same printer within 12 months of the inspection, and with this in mind the engineer will advise of any worn or damaged components and quote for their replacement. Furthermore, if the engineer feels a full disassembly and Service/Clean is required he will advise you and quote you according to you printer make and model. No additional work shall be carried out or parts installed without first obtaining authorisation.
The Laser Friend "Ad Hoc Inspection" is charged at a set fee no mater how long the engineer is with you. WE DO NOT CHARGE AN HOURLY RATE. It doesn't matter whether the engineer is with you for 1 hour or 1 day, even if he has to remove the printer to the workshop for further work, or if he has to return another day to complete the work, all you will be charged is the single Inspection charge. Using this method you know exactly how much the repair will cost you.

If you want to get your printer to our workshop, we are happy to carry out the same "Ad Hoc" procedure as above, and it will cost you £10.00 less. An engineer will carry out the Workshop Inspection at the earliest convenience and we will keep in regular contact with you including advice and progress reports. We endeavor to turn workshop repairs around within 48 hours.

Onsite RPMS Inspection from £59.00 mono and £79.00 colour.
Scheme 2 'RPMS' is an 'Annual' inspection scheme.
After an initial 'Ad Hoc' Inspection and repair, and in fact after any printer response, the details of the response including all work carried out is entered into our 'RPMS' database. If after 12 months that particular printer has not had a further response our 'RPMS' software flags its details and a Laser Friend representative will contact you to enquire on the printer condition.
During use, the printer cooling fan draws air, including dust, into the printer. A build up of toner, paper and general environmental dust will develop in the printers different assemblies. Additionally the paper path rollers will become glazed and eventually slip on the paper creating paper feed problems.
The 'RPMS' inspection is carried out using the same procedure as the 'Ad Hoc' inspection, the only difference is that being 'Pro Active', it becomes a 'Preventative Procedure', rather than waiting for the printer to fail during that all important job which "Has to go out tonight".
Since starting this scheme in 2000, we have found that rather than waiting for that inconvenient, costly downtime, our clients find that booking an Annual 'RPMS' Inspection at a time suitable to them, makes maintaining their printer/s convenient.

Often a printer can be repaired within an inspection. With this in mind we would advise not to book your printer in for a Service/Clean, but to allow our engineer to carry out an Inspection as described in Scheme 1 "Ad Hoc" above. If the engineer can repair the printer within the inspection, all you will be charged is for the inspection. However, if during the inspection the engineer feels the printer would benefit from a full disassembly and Service/Clean, he will quote you according to the printer make and model. Again our Service/Clean charge is a set fee depending on the printer make and model. WE DO NOT CHARGE AN HOURLY RATE.

| As an example of our pricing strategy: If you booked an engineer to carry out a Service/Clean on your Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4000, you would be charged £94.00 + vat. However, if you booked an engineer to inspect your Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4000 to repair a fault, you would only be charged £59.00 + vat. If the engineer is able to repair the printer within the inspection, and a Service/Clean is not required, you only pay the £59.00 + vat for the repair of your printer. If on the other hand, during the inspection the engineer feels your printer is in a poor condition and requires a Service/Clean to reduce the chances of failure during the next 12 months, he will advise you of this and quote a further £35.00 + vat to carry out the additional work. The total price of the Inspection and Service/Clean is £94.00 + vat, which is the same as if you had booked a Service/Clean in the first place. The obvious advantage here is that you get your printer inspected and repaired, and if it doesn't need a Service/Clean, you get it done £35.00 + vat cheaper. |
